Make connections with new people & build up a report that can lead to the right conversations.
Ask relevant questions of your current connections.
Be careful not to overuse any one tool.
Be careful not to over-prepare to network.

This week’s interview question: Describe your ideal working environment.
JB – {appropriate pause}, everyone is extremely open with thoughts & ideas – no snarking, no judgement
IE – maybe discuss a problem-solving environment.
Don’t overstate what environment is most ideal for you, share how you adjust in different environments, spin the conversation into a question about the department’s environment I thrive in a positive environment.
I help to make the environment positive & productive.
I look for a dynamic & collaborative environment.
A big point, I have worked in a toxic environment, I am not going to join that again.
What are you doing this week to move your self forward in your career journey?
IE – Automated video interview this week, Zoom interview, networking, enriching myself
JB – Working with Right Management (Leslie), interview technique webinars, volunteering work, a beer with Hemp industry guy (Eric Henry), continued discussions on new ideas
VS – keep working out, studying with dance teacher, write more, FTCC SBC meeting
RK – Every day, 1-2 conversations, working with 2 new students, speaking at PIT on Thursday,
This week’s challenge – Find 5 people you have not talked with in 6 months – Call them
