CSN Session – 06/01/20

Session Recording on YouTube (unlisted) –  https://youtu.be/rcpW8KN_Dls

This week’s Topic: Review the Pros & Cons as well as the Red Flags.
Pros – pay, vacation, insurance, growth, nothing to hide, onsite cafeteria,
Cons – pay, no beanies, corporate culture (not good), interviewer talking out of both sides of his/her heads

Red Flags should be warnings, not something I can tolerate. Run from them, you are worth way more than any job that has multiple Red Flags.

Department, people, leadership, industry,

It never gets better once you get there.
How do you get the interviewer to peel back the layers to discover the real person/department/team?
Pay attention to rude, disrespectful, and even evil people.

This week’s Interview question: In your current or last position, what features did you like most?
BL –  took the challenge – Lot of different projects, lots of different clients, had opportunities to do other projects, gave me lots of visibility.
Maybe he did not tell how, or what the visibility provided, how did these features contribute to the job.
Be careful your answers do not contradict the position being interviewed for and the company you are talking with
Rudderless answers – no good answer or relevance to the position.
Can the questions spin you to answer in a way you should not?
Spin the answer without lying or being disingenuous, and you must answer the question.
Answering the interviewing question is only part of the goal.
Yes – you need to understand why they are asking the question.

What are you doing this week to move your self forward in your career journey?
CL – Signed up for certification course – Medication Therapy Management.
JM – taking volunteer package for leaving so she can focus on self assessments and move forward.
BL – Offer from Florida’s National – working on moving companies, temporary housing, I’m REALLY Excited!! Lake Wales FL
SR – looking at training classes

GJ – idea around a project from the past to use for a new project (training style – Chunk Training)
VS – working on a new story. Add to stories, join FTCC mentor training, looking at new work ideas around budgeting. Volunteer judging.

Your target companies &/or individuals – share in chat box, in what role. Connect with each other to discover who knows who and who can introduce you to the next great conversation.

This week’s challenge – Know your absolute NO Red Flags. Write them down and make sure they are Absolutes that you will not accept a job if they exist.
